Lars Olsen - Director and principal Consultant/ADVISoR

Lars has been working in the public sector for state and national fisheries administrations since 2005, with nine of those years in senior management.  He also spent nearly two years managing a commercial abalone and mussel farm, four years as a director of sales & marketing for a commodity trading/risk management software company and two years managing a commodity trading company.  

Lars then worked for the Ministry for Primary Industries New Zealand as a Senior Fisheries Analyst/Advisor for Pacific Fisheries Management.  This position offered fisheries management and governance expertise as well as capacity building support to Pacific fisheries administrations under a programme funded by the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

 March 2019 - July 2019: Duke University - Support with access and interviews with Pacific Island leaders contributing to a study titled: Assessing the potential for transferability of access rights to enhance sustainability and profitability of Pacific tuna fisheries.

March 2019 - current: Kiribati - Vinstar Limited - Fisheries technical support on a project titled: Kiribati Fisheries Wealth Creation and Asset Protection.

April 2019 - September 2019: Republic of the Marshall Islands - Marshall Islands Marine Resources Authority Strategic Plan Development.

Solomon Islands - Allen & Clarke - Fisheries technical support to develop the next phase of a new NZ funded project in the Solomon Islands titled: Mekem Strong Solomon Islands Fisheries 3 (MSSIF3)
